Scanalogic

I don’t own a logic analyzer (does a 4-channel scope count?) but I’m quite tempted to build this $10 logic analyzer. Its essentially just a atmega16 and a 74hc04, good for up to 5mhz. I like the ‘04 substituting for a MAX232, its sneaky but I’ve done it myself & it does work just fine.

Cool! Quick question: couldn’t an arduino quickly be modified to do the same thing with a shield, and then you get USB. Perhaps a new shield could be whipped up!

This surprises me. Is this because you have access to one, so you don’t need to own one? I’d assumed that you’d have needed one for your kit(s) development. Not the case? Inquiring minds want to know…
