Battery Board Notes

The battery board plugs into the mainboard and basically just provides power. Running at full power (both RF channels on at all times), the draw is 650mA from 3.7V.

There are 2 board designs available for download, one with a Li-ion battery (nicer, smaller, more expensive) and one for AAA batteries (more basic, cheaper but less convenient). @ 3.7V the current draw is 650mA, at 5V its 500mA so most small batteries will give you about 1 hr of runtime (unless you go for a lar…

Due to the various odd voltages required by RF stages, there are no less than 4 rails:

	* 3.3V for digital/analog wave generation
	* 5V for RF gain stage
	* 12V for VCO power
	* 20-28V for VCO tuning
	* If you're using the PLL tuning system, there's an additional 2.5V rail (in the PLL section). grr!

Overview

Each step of the project has a parts list, assorted assembly photos/videos and testing procedures. The parts list is as complete as possible, with suggested parts and cost. Many parts can be sampled for free or low cost, but this is starting to become harder and harder. Parts may have to be purchased in larger quantities than necessary, and I always suggest getting twice as many parts as you'll need in case something goes wrong.
